电子竞技赛事观众现场观赛动机量表开发与验证

摘要: 作为一种新兴的竞技体育项目,电子竞技已经形成较为完善的赛事运作模式,其影响力和受众规模也在不断扩大。能否吸引赛事观众是赛事成功的关键,也是赛事主办方获取品牌赞助的重要前提。但目前学术界对电子竞技赛事观众及其观赛动机研究较为缺乏,少数的电竞观赛动机研究也主要针对在线直播观众。文章在以往传统体育赛事和电竞在线直播观赛动机研究的基础上,遵循规范的量表开发程序,编制并检验电子竞技观众现场观赛动机量表,构建了九维度动机模型,即愉悦满足、氛围体验、归属认同、队伍追随、技能提升、周边活动、社交、博彩、休闲消遣。文章的研究结果提供了测量电子竞技赛事观众现场观赛动机的工具,为进一步探究该构念的前因后果提供了基础,也为业界进一步理解电竞观众的观赛原因,更好地服务观众需要和促进产业健康发展提供了支持。

Abstract: As an emerging competitive sport,eSports has developed a relatively well-established tournament operation model,and its influence and spectators’ size are expanding.The ability to attract spectators is crucial to the success of an event,as well as an important prerequisite for event organizers to obtain brand sponsorship.However,there is a lack of research on eSports spectators and their motivations in the academic world.And the few eSports spectator motivation studies mainly focus on online spectators.Based on previous literatures on the motivations of traditional sporting events and online sports spectator motivations,this study followed a rigorous scale development procedure to develop and examine a scale of eSports on-site spectator motivation and obtained a nine-dimensional motivation model that includes pleasure,atmosphere experience,belonging and identity,team following,skill enhancement,peripheral events,social interaction,betting,and leisure and entertainment.The findings provide a tool to measure the motivations of eSports onsite spectators and offer a basis for further exploration of the antecedents and consequences of this construct.Meanwhile,the study promotes the healthy development of this industry by guiding the industry to further understand the reasons of on-site spectatorship and better serving the needs of spectators.
