Abstract: Based on the perspective of unified market construction, this study systematically discusses the impact of domestic market integration on tourism. The results show that the construction of domestic market integration significantly promotes the development of tourism. The results of the mechanism test show that the “structural upgrading effect” and the “environmental quality effect” are the intermediary channels through which domestic market integration influences tourism, while market potential and business environment are not only constraints regulating the tourism effect of domestic market integration, but also the synergy between the two is also an indirect mechanism through which domestic market integration has positively influence tourism. Heterogeneity analysis show that the tourism growth effect of domestic market integration is more significant in the early stage of the sample as well as provinces with inland areas, strict environmental regulations, and developed transportation infrastructure. This study provides certain policy implications for revealing the influence mechanisms of domestic market integration on tourism, and for understanding the influence of the construction of national unified market on non-tradable sectors.
