Abstract: With the implementation of China's rural revitalization strategy, rural tourism has become a new growth pole of rural economy, and many rural migrant women choose to return to their hometown and engage in rural tourism. However, few articles focus on returning rural women's participation in tourism, and fewer discuss this subject in the context of the multiple meanings of "home" or feminism. Therefore, taking Nanjing as an example, this paper uses the grounded theory to encode the in-depth interview texts of rural female migrant workers who return to their hometown and engage in rural tourism work, and analyzes the motivation and process of these women's return and their tourism practice from the perspective of "home" and feminism. The study finds out that for returning women, their physical return is the result of the push-pull forces of urban and rural areas. Back home, their participation in tourism helped them expand the meanings of "home" and making "home" again, and finally the "returning home" is realized. The "returning home" journey of these women is a rough process containing complex social ideas, economic activities and emotions, which reflects their pursuit of gender equality and individual consciousness. Nevertheless, the shackles of traditional gender power structure and stereotypical gender role concepts are still on them.

Key words: returning home, rural tourism, returning rural women, return migration
