Abstract: The comfortability degree of tourism climate is an important factor that affects tourists' decision-making and experience,as well as an important factor that affects the spatiotemporal changes of tourist flow.At present, domestic research on tourism climate comfortability degree is mostly concentrated in local areas and each of evaluation models has strong limitations, and there is a lack of evaluation of tourism climate comfortability in large-scale space. Therefore, based on the meteorological station data and the actual situation in mainland China, this paper explored the multi-time-scale changes and spatial pattern evolution of tourism climate comfortable degree in mainland China from 1961 to 2020 by modifying the typical international tourism climate comfort model. The results show that the modified tourism climate comfort model can better reflect the actual situation in mainland China. In time, the tourism climate comfortability degree in mainland China has exhibited non-linear and multi-time-scale cyclical changes in the past 60 years. In space, the tourism climate comfortable days in the southeast coastal areas of China have shown a decreasing trend, while most other regions have shown an increasing trend. These results provide theoretical support and practical guidance for future tourism climate research in China.

Key words: tourism climate comfortable degree, mainland China, climate change, multi-time-scale changes, non-linear changes
