Abstract: Tourism Spatial Spillover is a concept that studies the geographical externalities generated by the consumption expenditure in different kinds of behaviors within the tourism Flow. This study combined mobile cellular and questionnaire survey data to study the spatial spillover effect of Shanghai Disneyland from the perspective of intra-city tourism consumption expenditure. It used the questionnaire data to construct an individual-level spatial consumption expenditure model with consumption time, geographic space, and individual attributes as explanatory variables, and mobile phone cellular data to explore the total tourist spatio-temporal routes. The results reveal that:(1) the ratio of spillover consumption to Disneyland’s internal consumption was 0.96,and the total spillover consumption in 2017 reached 24.66 billion RMB;(2) the highest consumption spillover place is East Nanjing Road-the Bund area in downtown.Next are Yuyuan,Huaihai Road and Lujiazui in the central city, plus Chuansha,Zhoupu Town and Shanghai Wildlife Park around Disneyland;(3) overall,a “double-circle” model of consumption spillovers with the core spillover circle and the surrounding spillover circle is formed.Among them, elasticity consumption is concentrated in characteristic tourist attractions and business districts while necessity consumption is widely distributed, and occurs around large tourist facilities and along the major traffic channels;(4) the above results examined the two-step calculation method of consumption spillover combining mobile phone cellular data and questionnaire data.
